Ready for a whirlwind tour of our summer adventures? Here we go!
June was a great month - I am sorry we don't have any pictures of it!
In the beginning of July, it was family reunion time! On July 5, we did a family history tour of Salt Lake as part of the Farnsworth reunion. On July 3, we attended the first event of the Brady family reunion - the "hot dog roast." Here is a picture of Hyrum with our beloved Grandma Buhla - Hyrum's great grandmother :)
The next morning was the fourth of July! We started celebrating early, with a red-white and blue waffle breakfast with the Teichert family :)
The rest of the Fourth was spent with Farnsworth family reunion activities - it was a fun day!
That night, G and I watched fireworks from our front porch - and enjoyed the fireworks option on our camera :)
My sister M came over with her boyfriend, and we played with sparklers and had brownies and ice cream together, and talked about some of our favorite things about America. Education, opportunity, natural beauty, and liberty were some of the things we love about our country.
This summer, we discovered that Hyrum loves watermelon!
Before we left Utah, we felt we should visit Utah lake. I mean, would it not be sad to have lived within 5 miles of this lake for 5 years, and never have seen it up close? So, on a rainy evening, we went - and were not disappointed. It was beautiful! (Granted, we did not see the water quality or the beaches; I understand some aspects of Utah lake are not pretty at all).
M, who bought this suit for Hyrum before he was even born, kept asking for weeks if the little suit fit him yet. It is meant for a 12 month old, but one day, just to see, we tried it on him - and most of it fit! The pants are still too long - but the rest fit well, and made him look very dapper :)
Hyrum started eating rice cereal in mid July! Here he is with some of his first tastes of it :)
When G, Hyrum and I went to Cokeville to visit G's parents over the 24th of July, we were surprised when G's Mom, Hyrum and I were asked to be in the parade! We had a good time - going up Main street, and back down again - it only took about a half hour for the whole route. Small town fun!
Later on the afternoon of the 24th, we went to Bear Lake, which is very close to Cokeville. J and E brought their canoe, and we all had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect - the water was warm, and we all had a great time!
Isn't Bear Lake Beautiful?
The first dunk :)
Wading makes you tired!
The end of a wonderful afternoon :)
